OpenAI doživio fijasko pri lansiranju GPT-5
OpenAI je izazvao ogorčenje kada je prilikom objave GPT-5 privremeno ugasio prethodne modele, uključujući omiljeni GPT-4o. Reakcija korisnika koji su navikli na topliji stil GPT-4o bila je snažna, pa je Sam Altman ubrzo promijenio odluku i omogućio pretplatnicima povratak na GPT-4o.
Altman je kasnije priznao grešku i rekao: "I think we totally screwed up some things on the rollout," i dodao kako su "learned a lesson about what it means to upgrade a product for hundreds of millions of people in one day.”
Istovremeno je branio poslovne brojke: "On the other hand, our API traffic doubled in 48 hours and is growing," rekao je Altman. "We’re out of GPUs. ChatGPT has been hitting a new high of users every day. A lot of users really do love the model switcher." Ove tvrdnje navodno prate rast API saobraćaja i interesovanje za GPT-5, GPT-4o i ChatGPT.
Problemi se tiču i emocionalne vezanosti korisnika za model. Altman je priznao: "There are the people who actually felt like they had a relationship with ChatGPT, and those people we’ve been aware of and thinking about," i dalje: "And then there are hundreds of millions of other people who don’t have a parasocial relationship with ChatGPT, but did get very used to the fact that it responded to them in a certain way, and would validate certain things, and would be supportive in certain ways." Očigledno je da OpenAI i Sam Altman potcjenjuju koliko su GPT-4o i ChatGPT važni određenoj grupi korisnika.
Iako je lansiranje GPT-5 imalo tehničke i PR propuste, mnogi korisnici i dalje prate OpenAI i ChatGPT, dok diskusija o sigurnosnim ograničenjima GPT-5 i dalje traje.
